Event description
Ghosted on Grindr? Had it with HER? Come along for a cute and casual outdoor speed dating/friending party at Runner Up Rooftop Bar, hosted by the wonderfully charming Scout Boxall and Charlie Lewin. There won't be an awkward face in the house! You'll go on a selection of snappy dates with a heap of hotties, drinking and talking and probably drinking some more. You can expect to be one of 40-60 people. There'll be a playlist to get you movin' and a special top secret performance!
We'll also have heaps of conversation cards with all the most important first date Qs like "Cottagecore or city slicker?" and "Can you name more than one Vanilla Ice song?" as well as a competition to submit your own, where you can win a $50 bar voucher!
Tickets are just over a dollar a date and this one is for queer people of all genders inclusive of those who are trans and/or gender diverse. Monogamous people, non-monogamous people and everyone in between are welcome. We won't split people into groups so there's the understanding that you may date some people whose gender doesn't necessarily align with your preferences/attractions but we hope that you agree new friends are also great!!! We'll also make sure that there's lots of time during and after the event to mingle and chat to whoever you want! Don't let us call your night short, continue to drink and dance afterwards to our playlist of lurrrrve!

You will need to show proof of your double vax status on the door. We strongly recommend bringing hand sanitiser, wearing a mask when not drinking/eating and if possible, getting your booster shot and doing a RAT before attending (if you have access to them).
This space aims to be a safe, inclusive space for LGBTIQ+ folks. Transphobic, racist, classist, genderist, biphobic or homophobic behaviour will not be tolerated and will result in you being asked to leave.

FAQs
What's the refund policy?
If you are experiencing any symptoms whatsoever or get an alert that you are a close contact, please postpone your attendance - we are more than happy to transfer your tickets to a later date at no extra cost. The nature of the event means we're pretty reliant on numbers, so please be conscious of this and give us as much notice as possible so we have time to replace you - as a courtesy to us. Full refunds (as opposed to transfers) are available up to 7 days prior to the event. We won't be able to offer you a refund or transfer if you are a no-show/don't contact us until after the event has started.
Will I date everyone?
Not usually, no. There will be between 40 and 70 people, however you'll only go on 15-25 dates. There'll be ample time throughout the event to chat to people that you won't date though, so please don't be shy. You don't need to be sat at a table to have a nice convo.
Can I buy a ticket on the door?
We usually sell out, but if we don't and you wanna try your luck, just turn up no later than half an hour after the advertised start time and bring cash. We only advise this method if you live close by, coz we can't guarantee anything.
Is there an age range?
We don't have an age policy but to give you a guide our demographic is usually people in their 20s and 30s, with most attendees sitting between 25 and 35.
Do I get free drinks just for showing up?
Nah. We know some speed dating organisers bribe their guests with free drinks, but we have full confidence in the fun factor of our events, so don't feel the need for bribes. Please also keep in mind, many of these companies charge $60+ a ticket.
How much privacy will we have?
We'll have the exclusive use of the venue - no lurkers, only ticket holders!
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
Yes, that's fine. If you can let us know of any name changes prior to the event it's always appreciated.
