A full 16-piece live on-stage Balinese gamelan percussion orchestra, soulful vocals, and hypnotic hip-hop/electronic beats. Welcome to the Bali to Brunswick Block Party at Brunswick Music Festival 2023.

This show brings together shimmering cascades of metallic sound, virtuosic rhythms and breathtaking crescendos of Gamelan DanAnda with the soulful vocals of fast-rising Balinese-Australian vocalist Komang (Rosie Clynes), all pulled together by the masterful production of Joelistics (Joel Ma).

This show will also act as the launch of Saudara by Joelistics x Komang x Gamelan DanAnda, an EP that fuses all of these sounds together.

The Saudara EP was created as part of Joelistics’ 2022 artist in residency with Gamelan DanAnda supported by the City of Darebin’s community grants program.

Further development of a collaboration between Joelistics, Gamelan DanAnda, and Balinese artists Yande King’s and Emon Bayem was funded by a Playking grant from Arts Centre Melbourne.
