Wed 27th March: Anna Morley (March residency) - From 8pm - Free!

Anna Morley is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer. Her music has been described as "an eclectic fusion of electro-acoustic vibes with ambient overtones, woven together by fresh minimal grooves". On stage she blends live vibraphone, keys and vocals with hand-made beats and samples to deliver rich layers of sound. Anna has released five albums of original compositions, the most recent being "Visceral" (2019) via Hymen Records. After living and performing in Europe over the last two decades, Anna has recently moved back home to Melbourne.

A few words from Anna:

G'day everyone,

I'm looking forward to my Wednesday-nights-in-March residency at Brunswick's Ringo Barr and have decided to set myself a fun little challenge. A couple o' weeks ago my Dad brought over a load of dusty boxes full of old records, books and photos albums from the last 60 odd years. Some stuff is cringy as hell which is to be expected but there's also gold in there. I have found it so inspiring to sift through these treasured items which were also part of my own childhood, and find some way of celebrating them in my work. As I’ll be playing at a record store, I’ll have a lil jam each week with a different vinyl from the collection, which is still to be decided.. as I said, a joyful challenge for me and hopefully good times all round and round.

Sweet Nothing’s first stop of their doubleheader weekend of music. Joining them at Ringo Barr will be Dinosaur Alan and Mellowtonic.

Fresh to the live scene is the psychedelic 5 piece Dinosaur Alan, who recently had their first gig at Pockets in Moorabbin. They will be joining us for their second gig ever.

We met Mellowtonic at another music venue unrelated and now they will be joining us clean off their successful gig at Stay Gold proceeding to the next stage of the Access All Areas Band Comp. Another huge six-piece band to fit on the small and tremendous Ringo Barr stage.

Check them out @sweetnothingmusic on Instagram as they are continuously gigging all over Melbourne’s music venues.

Feast your ears for a night of eclectic frequencies, rock and roll, and all sorts of fun and dancing. Sweet Nothing host an ear party with Dinosaur Alan and Mellowtonic.
