Katankin is the solo moniker of Melbourne-based independent singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Helen Catanchin. Formally trained as a jazz singer, Helen has been performing and recording professionally for over ten years in a wide range of contexts and ensembles, and has a diverse catalogue of releases to her name.

With a uniquely warm tone that is simultaneously earthy and incredibly pure, along with a true bard's ability to deftly expose the beating heart of every song, Helen's poetic and poignant songwriting style puts an additional unmistakable stamp on Katankin's music. Magical storytelling, despair and hope juxtaposed, and candid confessions of hearts laid bare, are all navigated by Helen's signature vocals amidst lush harmonic beds and addictive hooks and grooves.
